Devastated by the death of his best friend, John sets out to uncover what really happened. He is suspended from his security job. Isabella gets him picked up and questions him. He doesn’t talk, but accuses her of being the cause of Simon’s death.

At Simon’s funeral, tensions rise. Obadiya wants to make a deal with John. It is in both their interests to keep their mouths shut. By collaborating with the detectives investigating Simon’s death, Isabella discovers that his murderer is probably one of the members of the old platoon.

4. Mark
His former boss Cor Kramer (55) invites John to return to military service, as he is in the best position to unravel the deadly intrigues taking place. He starts his first day of work back with the Royal Dutch Commandos, becoming even more estranged from his wife Marte, who is against this.

5. Kenneth
Kenneth (34), always the toughest of the old platoon members, is also struggling with PTSD, but keeps this hidden from everyone. He has become a sex addict, is drinking too much, and ends up getting into a violent confrontation with a pimp.

John is hunting down Kenneth, who he believes to be Simon’s killer. Kenneth is trying to fight his addictions, and goes into group therapy. Isabella tries to get Kenneth to confess, and to tell the whole story about what happened in Nigeria, saying this is the only way he will ever get ‘clean’.

John tells Marte it’s all resolved now and they can go on with their lives. John suggests horse-riding therapy for Sophie. But Sophie falls off a horse and has to go into hospital.

Isabella checks Berend’s alibi. She also visits John in the hospital, where he is with Sophie and Marte. She tells him Kenneth has been killed. Marte gives John an alibi for the murder.

9. Gods Toorn Is A Bitch
John, Marte and Sophie have to stay at the army base for their own security. Although John should really stay there for Sophie now, he goes off to look for Mo. John can’t find Mo, but comes across Mo’s brother, Ibri, who tells him Mo is now with the lowlife criminals, trying to sort things out.
